Els Peeters is Professor in the department of Physics and Astronomy and the Institute for Earth and Space Exploration at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, and research scientist at the SETI Institute in California, USA. She is a collaborator under InterCat.

 

Her research focuses on the physics and chemistry of interstellar carbonaceous molecules and dust with a prime emphasis on polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). She relies largely on observations in the infrared, especially spectroscopy. She is a principal investigator of the Early Release Science program "Radiative feedback from massive star" on the James Webb Space Telescope.
