He has been pioneering the use of evolutionary algorithms (EA) for identifying molecular and surface structures, as well as reactivity. Under InterCat these techniques will be used to realistically model interstellar dust grains and to map out catalytic reaction pathways on these, as well as to perform automated vibrational spectra calculations for identified products and intermediates and compare them to observational spectra.
