Workshop on new Methods in Astrochemistry
4-8th May InterCat hosted the Workshop on new Methods in Astrochemistry with IRAstro in Aarhus
Last week, InterCat and IRAstro came together with friends for an inspiring workshop on "New Methods in Astrochemistry". Our workshop was hosted at the vibrant environment of the Aarhus Institute for Advanced Studies (AIAS), Aarhus University.
The workshop brought together observational astronomers, computational and experimental astrochemists, and outside experts working at the cutting edge of relevant computational and laboratory techniques. 33 talks and 27 posters led to collaboration, knowledge sharing, and new ideas. Our Monday evening poster session sparked many engaging discussions that continued long after the food and drinks were finished!
Beyond the scientific programme, participants enjoyed:
Lab tours at the Department of Physics and Astronomy
A memorable walk through the collections at ARoS Aarhus Art Museum, including a conference dinner “just under the rainbow”
Plenty of informal discussions in the beautiful university park, taking advantage of the warm spring weather.
The week also included our annual follow-up visit from the Danish National Research Foundation on Wednesday, where the InterCat team very much enjoyed presenting our research, discussing the development of the center and learning about new initiatives from DNRF.
A big thank you to all speakers, poster presenters, and participants for contributing to a dynamic and engaging workshop - and to everyone involved in organising the event - not least the staff at AIAS for making us feel so welcome!
