Currently I am a Research Technician in the Lab for Astrophysics in the Leiden Observatory, working on measuring optical constants of interstellar ices. I will also help maintain and improve the Leiden Ice Database for Astrochemistry (LIDA). In my short stay of seven months here in Leiden, I will work with Dr. Ko-Ju Chuang. 

 

When I had completed my bachelor research project in Diffuse Interstellar Bands, my interest and fascination for astrochemistry started. For my master research project, I worked on the Optical Analysis Setup for Ice Spectroscopy (OASIS), measuring the optical constants of water and carbon dioxide ice at 10 K, as well as a mixture of the two. Now, as a Research Technician, I will continue this work to improve OASIS as well as prepare it for future students, so that students (like me) have a better opportunity to learn what working in an astrochemistry lab is like.
