Under the supervision of Dr. Ko-Ju Chuang and Prof. Dr. Ewine van Dishoeck, I will work on the SURFace REaction SImulation DEvise (SURFRESIDE). On this setup, I will study the formation of important building block for life, such as amino acids and sugars. The formation pathways in dense cloud environments will involve barrierless reaction due to the presence of radical atoms or molecules driving such chemistry, and thus such non-energetic chemistry will be the foundation of the work performed on SURFRESIDE.
When I had completed my bachelor research project in Diffuse Interstellar Bands, my interest and fascination for astrochemistry started. For my master research project, I worked on the Optical Analysis Setup for Ice Spectroscopy (OASIS), measuring the optical constants of water and carbon dioxide ice at 10 K, as well as a mixture of the two. After I continued my work as a Research Technician, where I worked to improve OASIS beyond previous capabilities.
