Our experiments combine laboratory experiments using femtosecond optical lasers with experiments at international user facilities, such as X-ray lasers in the USA, Japan and Korea.
In Aarhus we have two femtosecond laser labs:
The high time resolution lab delivers short pulses of light (down to 15 fs) to investigate the fastest processes in solids and focuses on studying light-induced phase transitions through changes in the phonon modes of a material.
The non-linear optics lab, looks at phase transitions though changes in the rotational anisotropy of the linear and non-linear response of quantum materials.
