Title: Water Nucleation via Transient Bonds to Oxygen-Functionalized Graphite

Summary:
In a recent paper we study the microscopic ice nucleation and growth on clean and oxidized graphite. We find that oxygen atoms act as nucleation sites for ice growth by limiting the mobility of water molecules.
The limited mobility of water in the presence of surface defects contribute to our understanding of the macroscopic anti-icing properties observed on functionalized graphene in ambient conditions and shed light on our understanding of the early stages of ice growth on interstellar dust grains
