Quantum Computing - An introduction to experimental implementations
Kristoffer Theis Skalmstang
Vejleder: Lukas Buchmann
Mandag den 25. April kl. 14.15
Fysisk Auditorium
The notion of quantum computing appears more and more in everyday speech. But what is a quantum computer? Which parts is it assembled with? How does it compute? These are the questions that drive this colloquium. The talk will introduce basic elements of a logic quantum computer and the concept of performing circuit quantum computation. The practical implementations and their limitations are discussed in systems with photons, neutral atoms, superconducting qubits and ions, and thus a glimpse into a rapidly growing field in physics is provided.
