Active Galactic Nuclei
Supervisor: Maximilian Stritzinger
Most of the galaxies are believed to harbour a monster in their center. This monster is a very massive black hole. In the early universe, it is very common to have some material falling onto these black holes. This makes the nuclei of the galaxy very bright that it can be more luminous than the rest of the galaxy light. These nuclei of galaxies are known as active galactic nuclei or shortly AGN. In this talk, we will explore the basic properties of AGN and talk about a possible production scheme of the enormous energies in this central regions of galaxies.
