Simon Wall has received 16,597,909 DKK NERD grant from the Novo Nordisk Foundation to study the out of equilibrium response of quantum materials for the next 7 years. 

The project aims to exploit the power of femtosecond X-ray lasers to understand how light can be used to generate local, atomic scale, displacements in materials known as polarons, and how these can be manipulated to enhance material properties such as regular and super-conductivity and magnetism.
