Title: Testing asteroseismic scaling relations with interferometry

Abstract: With the success of the CoRoT and Kepler missions, solar-like oscillations have been detected in many thousands of stars from the main sequence through to red giants, allowing for a new era of ensemble asteroseismology. The ability of asteroseismology to provide precise radii, masses and ages will be of tremendous use for population studies of the galaxy. However, with so many stars, detailed modelling to determine parameters for every star is not feasible, and so we rely on asteroseismic scaling relations and grid-based methods. The validity of the scaling relations for stars that are significantly different from the Sun needs to be tested with independent measurements of stellar parameters. In this talk I discuss the scaling relations, with particular attention to the large separation scaling relation, and how interferometric radii can be used to test their validity
