Title

Superconducting qubits at the frontiers of quantum information processing

Abstract

Superconducting circuits and qubits has emerged as a singularly flexible platform for not only building larger scale quantum processors, but also as a fertile playground for exploring quantum information physics more broadly. In this talk I will introduce the fundamental physics of these circuits, provide a perspective on why they enjoy so much success, and discuss state-of-the-art developments towards quantum error correction with superconducting qubits. I will also discuss a few snapshots from ongoing work in our group at Niels Bohr Institute on establishing a 25 superconducting qubit quantum processor system and provide insights on some often-neglected aspects of what it takes to operate state-of-the-art quantum processors.
