This presentation has 3 parts as following:

First part will be an outline of what was happened of science popularization in China, mainly talking about the vicissitude of institutions and strategies of science popularization in China oriented by government during the last 60 years.

Second part will give an overview and discussion of what is happening of science popularization in communities from perspective of the "last mile" which shows a different picture from governmental orientation.

Third part will make some interesting international comparisons between China and the West during last three decades.
