Title: 21cm cosmology using neutral hydrogen (HI) intensity mapping

Abstract:

21cm cosmology is a new area of research with a great deal of potential. Intensity mapping is an innovative technique, which uses HI to map the large-scale structure of the Universe in three dimensions. In this talk I will first give a review of the possibilities for precision cosmology with 21cm fluctuations, with special emphasis on the intensity mapping technique. I will then present recent work on forecasts for clustering and lensing measurements using intensity mapping surveys with the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) and its pathfinders (MeerKAT), alone and in combination with optical galaxy surveys like Euclid. Suchmeasurements can be used to constrain HI, galaxy, and cosmological parameters across a wide range of redshift. I will also discuss the possibility to test General Relativity and the standard cosmological model using HI intensity mapping, optical galaxy and CMB lensing surveys.
