Intense THz sources: from fundamentals to applications

Abstract: First, I will present the development of intense THz pulsed sources in LOMA (Univ. Bordeaux) using nonlinear crystals and plasma generation in air. The intense THz pulses has been used to generate second and third-order nonlinear optical processes in crystals such as ZnTe or Gap. Then, some applications will be underline such as realtime THz imaging using a 2D electro-optic detection scheme and THz wavefront analysis.
