Abstract:
Making two photons bounce off each other is a long-standing goal in quantum optics and a prerequisite for many tasks in quantum logic, measurements and simulations. I will review current experimental progress towards strong interactions between optical photons, and discuss our new project aiming at creating such interactions in a spatially structured ensemble of Rydberg atoms.
