The Wodtke Group investigates molecular energy transfer and chemical reactions at surfaces using advanced laser spectroscopy and molecular beam techniques.
In IRAstro, the group:
- develops instrumentation for chemical physics based on the use of high sensitivity infrared spectrometers exploiting SNSPD technology.
- performs ensemble experiments on model astrochemical systems
- studies energy dissipation, vibrational dynamics, and tunnelling in low-temperature condensed phases
These experiments provide the benchmark data needed to interpret interstellar observations.
