In this talk, I will discuss the interest of adopting the Bayesian point-of-view for the estimation of stellar parameters. I will shortly review the basic philosophy of Bayesian Statistics and of numerical methods such as Markov chain Monte Carlo algorithms. I will present results on the applicability of these methods to the exercise of estimating the physical characteristics of sun-like stars. I will finally present some recent results on convective core detection in such stars.
