New Data Manager and HPC Administrator: Jonas Mikkelsen
We are pleased to welcome Jonas Mikkelsen as our new Data Manager and HPC Administrator at the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Jonas will support the department's researchers in managing research data and in the daily operation and development of our HPC facilities.
Jonas has recently completed his PhD in computational chemistry at Aarhus University. He has worked extensively with scientific programming and method development in Fortran and Python, and he has built up experience with HPC and Slurm as both a user and a developer.
In his new role as Data Manager, Jonas will take on a central function advising and acting as a point of contact on data management at the department, including data management plans, data storage, metadata and data sharing. He will also serve as Local Information Security Coordinator (LISK) for the department.
In his role as HPC Administrator, he will join CSCAA and help with the daily operation and maintenance of Linux clusters, including hardware management, software maintenance, user support and documentation of the HPC system.
If you are curious about data management, the FAIR principles or how to make the best use of the HPC facilities, you are very welcome to reach out to Jonas or stop by his office, 1520-622.
