Mie Andersen employed as associate professor
From 1st September 2021 Mie will be employed as associate professor in theoretical materials physics
From 1st September 2021 Mie Andersen will be employed as associate professor in theoretical materials physics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy.
In her research, she works on understanding the catalytic activity of different materials, from metal- or oxide particles in a chemical reactor for dust grains in interstellar space using quantum mechanic calculations, machine learning and microscopic modelling.
Mie has been connected to AIAS at Aarhus University since February 2021.
She was educated at Aarhus University, where she received her PhD degree in 2014. Through her career she has done research at CEMES-CNRS in Toulouse, France and at Technische Universität München in Germany.
Mie was born in Roskilde and grew up near a small town called Ødsted west of Vejle. She now lives in Vejle with her husband and 2 year old son, and enjoys nature for hiking, cycling and running.
A date for when our new associate professor will make her inaugural lecture will follow.
