At the annual meeting of Danish Physical Society on June 19th and 20th 2012, Lars Wacker and Ditte Både Sandkamm both received the poster prize. The prize had to be shared between the two, because the judges could not agree on which poster was best.

Lars is a ph.d. student in Jan Arlt´s group and had brought a poster with the title "Progress towards Quantum Degenerate K-Rb Molecules" about the production of multi-component gas clouds at extremely low temperatures used for the association of ultra-cold molecules and the investigation of their reactive properties in the laboratory.

Ditte is a master student in Peter Balling´s group and brought a poster with the title "Femtosecond Laser Ablation Rates of Dielectric Materials: Experiments and Modeling" about how to make precise structures in dielectric materials by ultra-short laser pulses which can remove material by vaporizing the desired area.

In addition to the honor, each of two students receive a gift of 1500 DKK.
