Celebrating the Teacher and the Instructor of the year
Congratulations to the Teacher of the Year and Instructor of the Year at the Department of Physics and Astronomy!
This year, the titles go to Prof. Bjørk Hammer as Teacher of the Year and PhD student Christian Engelbrecht Petersen as Instructor of the Year.
Christian receives the Instructor of the Year award for his motivated, friendly, and helpful approach to teaching. Students especially highlight his dedication to the course in Python programming in physics, where he has been an important source of support and has contributed to a positive learning environment.
Bjørk receives the Teacher of the Year award for his strong commitment to teaching and educational development. Bjørk has put significant effort into both curriculum design and the development of new courses at both the bachelor’s and master’s levels. At the same time, he is deeply focused on student learning and engagement, which clearly comes through in his teaching.
The awards recognize educators who make a special difference for students - both academically and personally. The awards were presented by Deputy Department Head of Teaching Hans Fynbo and the 2025 receiver of the Instructor award Victor Christiansen.
A big congratulations to both award recipients, and thank you for your efforts!
