I am primarily interested in theoretical many-body physics and quantum optics. Presently, I focus on atomic gases. The exploration of trapped ultracold atomic gases has produced several breakthrough results in the last two decades. Atomic gases are used to simulate many-body systems without the presence of disorder, intricate band structures etc., which impose major complications for the understanding of conventional condensed matter systems.
