Title:
Pauli Crystals: hidden geometric structures of the quantum statistics
Abstract:
I will report, so far undiscovered, consequence of the quantum indistinguishability. We found on a theoretical ground that identical fermions confined in an external trapping potential arrange themselves in spectacular geometrical structures although no mutual interaction is assumed. This is because the indistinguishability of fermions, formulated in the language of the Pauli exclusion, forbids two fermions to be at the same location. When plethora of single-shot results are not simply averaged but appropriate collected, these beautiful and unexplored geometrical structures, Pauli crystals, emerge.
