Abstract:
The Gauge/Gravity duality is a conjecture that a gauge theory in four dimensional flat spacetime is equivalent to a string theory in a curved five dimensional spacetime. In this talk I will present some simple arguments to show that this duality implies that a QCD flux-tube is a string but with a finite intrinsic thickness, and the thickness is related to the position of the fundamental string in the fifth dimension.
