A few years back, a type of rocket engine was proposed that would convert electricity into thrust in an efficient manner, which would overcome the need for bringing heavy fuel. Such an engine would revolutionize space travel as we know it. Unfortunately, the device does not only seem to break the laws of physics - even worse, it seems to work!
Theoretical physicists have tried to explain this phenomenon in a myriad of ways that span in complexity from experimental error to completely rebuilding the way we think about quantum mechanics.

This talk aims to navigate the heated debate concerning the device while looking at theoretical as well as experimental results. And hopefully save the dignity of physics on the way.
