SAC Seminar - Paul Beck: Seismology of red-giant stars in eccentric binary systems
The unparalleled photometric data obtained by NASA’s Kepler space telescope has led to an improved understanding of red giant stars from asteroseismology. The detection of mixed modes in red giant stars has enabled us to determine the evolutionary state and constrain their internal rotational gradient. In addition, we continue to find more red giants in binary systems, which are ideal cases to study the interaction of stars from seismology.
