We are celebrating the opening of a new research project in three-dimensional radiation dosimetry financed by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. The new interdisciplinary project between Department of Physics and Astronomy and Aarhus University Hospital will develop new materials and methods for verifying the precision of modern radiotherapy incl. proton therapy. With the official opening arrangement, we are welcoming five new Ph.D.-students, several new postdocs and our national and international collaborators. At the same time, we invite our colleagues and students to hear about the project and celebrate with us over a cup of coffee or tea, fruit and cake. The program is:
13:00-13:05 Opening by Deputy Department Head Lars Bojer Madsen
13:05-13:15 A brief introduction to the new project (Peter Balling, AU)
13:15-13:45 The current status of 3D dosimetry (Simon Doran, CRUK, UK)
13:45-14:00 The urgent need for 3D dosimetry in proton therapy (Peter Skyt, AUH)
14:00-14:30 Opening reception with coffee, tea, fruit, and cake
