New Administrative Coordinator: Sofie Thomsen
We are pleased to welcome Sofie Thomsen as Administrative Coordinator in the IFA Secretariat as of 1 June 2026.
Among her responsibilities, Sofie will serve as coordinator for a new CERN flagship initiative aimed at strengthening Denmark’s use of CERN and promoting national collaboration in this area. The consortium includes several Danish universities and institutions, with Aarhus University as the host institution and Ulrik I. Uggerhøj leading the project as principal investigator.
The position also involves a range of additional tasks within the Secretariat, including activities related to education, management support, research support, and communication.
Sofie holds a Master’s degree in Chemistry from Aarhus University (2024) and has for several years been part of a research group in biophysical chemistry at iNANO, most recently working as a scientific assistant. She therefore brings strong experience from the natural sciences and research environment and now steps into a coordinating role focused on providing overview, structure, and effective collaboration.
She looks forward to becoming part of IFA and to getting to know her many new colleagues.
Feel free to stop by Sofie’s office, 1520-528.
