Nikolaj Thomas Zinner appointed professor

From October 15th, he starts as professor in theoretical professor

Nikolaj Thomas Zinner will start as Professor in theoretical physics on October 15th, 2020, in the position Full Professor or Associate Professor in theoretical physics with focus on new quantum phenomena in solid state and nanoscale systems.

His research deals with quantum mechanical  systems from the very small to the slightly larger, both with regard to basic research questions about what is possible in the world of quantum physics, as well as in a broader perspective about the use of quantum mechanical systems in the technology of the future.

Nikolaj has been employed at Aarhus University since 2010, most recently as associate professor since 2013. He graduated from Aarhus University, where he received his PhD degree in 2007. Throughout his career, he has conducted research at Harvard University in the USA, as well as at the Niels Bohr Institute. During his career at AU, Nikolaj has been very active in various forums and councils, as well as being a mentor for early career researchers from several different faculties. Nikolaj is currently employed as a deputy director at AIAS, where he also holds a Jens Christian Schou Fellowship.

It will be announced at a later stage, where and when the new Professor will hold his inaugural lecture.
