Jeppe Langeland joins the group of Prof. Steen Brøndsted Nielsen as a postdoctoral researcher from May 1. His work will involve further developments of a new ion luminescence setup (LUNA2) where mass-selected ionic fluorophores are stored in a liquid-nitrogen cooled ion trap and excited by laser pulses.

Jeppe completed his PhD in 2019 (supervisor Prof. Lars H. Andersen), doing ultra-fast action spectroscopy of large biomolecules. Following his PhD, he was a postdoc in the group of Associate Prof. Dan Bruhn at Aalborg University, designing experimental systems for environmental research. He used cavity ring down spectroscopy to measure extremely small changes in concentrations of various greenhouse gasses, ultimately categorizing the emission rates from various sources such as plant leaves and artificial fertilizers.
