New Associate Professor: Oriol Vendrell
Oriol Vendrell joins the Department as an Associate Professor in Theoretical Molecular Physics from July 1, 2016
Oriol Vendrell received his PhD in Teoretical and Computational Chemistry in 2005 from the Univesitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Afterwards he was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Heidelberg in Germany funded through an Alexander von Humboldt Foundation fellowship followed by a MARIE CURIE Intra-European fellowship. Since 2010 he has been the Group leader of the Chemical Dynamics Group in the Theory Division at the Center for Free-Electron Laser Science, DESY, Hamburg, Germany.
Oriol joins us as an associate professor in Theoretical Molecular Physics. His research will focus on the theory of ultrafast molecular phenomena and the interactions between molecules and light as well as on developing methods related to the nuclear and electronic dynamics of molecular systems.
We welcome Oriol to the Department
