We are delighted to announce that Jan Arlt has been appointed Professor at our department. 

Jan joined us as an Associate Professor in 2010, bringing with him a strong academic foundation from Hanover and a PhD from Oxford (2000). Since then, he has become an integral part of our department contributing actively to departmental committees, serving as the DM labour union representative, and taking on an impressive teaching, training, and supervision load. 

Last week, Jan delivered his inaugural lecture, offering a fascinating view into Building Quantum Matter with Ultracold Atoms and showcasing the depth and impact of his research. 

Hiring Jan as Professor is a clear investment in the future of our department, and we are excited for the continued leadership, insight, and dedication he brings.
