Associate Professor Anne E. B. Nielsen has received DKK 15,972,622 from the Novo Nordisk Foundation's NERD programme for the project: "Quantum isolation in many-body systems from diverse properties", which starts in August 2026.
Associate Professor Anne E. B. Nielsen has received DKK 15,972,622 from the Novo Nordisk Foundation’s NERD programme for the research project “Quantum Isolation in Many-Body Systems from Diverse Properties”. The project starts in August 2026.
The grant will enable us to construct and explore new types of quantum many-body systems, in which some of the highly-excited states have properties that are normally only found in ground states. Such systems may, for instance, be realized with trapped Rydberg atoms. The construction leads to counter-intuitive behaviors and new phenomena that we will investigate numerically. We will also utilize the systems to explore quantum dynamics under new conditions and build a new toolbox for quantum state manipulation.
Congratulations to Anne E. B. Nielsen on the new grant!
