Last week, the Department of Physics and Astronomy welcomed 66 new bachelor’s students with an exciting and varied introduction program. The week offered both academic and social insights into student life, and the atmosphere was filled with curiosity and anticipation.

The official welcome took place in the Physics Auditorium, where Head of Department Ulrik Ingerslev Uggerhøj gave an inspiring speech, highlighting the creative nature of physics:
“We create new things to uncover the secrets of nature.”

Throughout the week, the new students participated in a wide range of activities, including:

  • Welcome events – both indoors and outdoors
  • Campus tours
  • Introduction to student associations
  • Helpful advice and guidance from tutors
  • Orientation race
  • Trial TØ (introductory teaching session)
  • Physics Friday Bar and Fysikshow

Of the 66 admitted students, 46 are men and 19 are women. The department looks forward to supporting them on their academic journey and is committed to fostering a strong and inclusive student community.
