New postdoc - Danil Kornovan
Danil Kornovan joins the Center for Complex Quantum Systems in January 2022
On 15 January 2022 Danil Kornovan joined CCQ as new postdoc.
He defended his PhD in ITMO University, St. Petersburg in December of 2020. During his PhD, he worked on different topics ranging from classical nanophotonics, metamaterials (including metalenses) to semiclassical, and quantum theory of light-matter interactions, and quantum optics with atoms. During the research projects, he collaborated with international researchers, including the research group of Julien Laurat from Laboratoire Kastler Brossel at Sorbonne University; Thomas Busch (Quantum Systems Unit), and Sile Nic Chormaic (Light-Matter Interactions for Quantum Technologies Unit) from Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology; prof. Ivan Iorsh from ITMO University.
In the Center, he will be conducting research in collaboration with Klaus Mølmer and Thomas Pohl in the fields of quantum light-matter interactions, atom optics, and waveguide quantum electrodynamics.
A warm welcome to Danil!
