New PhD Student - Daniel Holleufer
On May 1st Daniel Holleufer joined CCQ as a PhD student
Daniel has been a reasearch assistent since september 2022.
As a PhD student he will explore the interaction between light and matter in the context of an atomic array in the near vicinity of a waveguide. In particular investigate atoms coupled to a chiral waveguide, i. e. a waveguide in which the amount of light that the atoms emit into the waveguide is not necessarily the same in both directions. The two special cases where the atoms either send an equal amount of light in both directions or only send light in one direction have both been studied before. We wish to extend results from these cases to the general case. One such result is the appearance of a phase transition in the symmetric case when the light and atoms couple strongly enough.
A warm welcome to Daniel
