Title: ”Life at the End of Worlds”.
*Abstract*:
Environmental conditions on a planet change over geological timescales. For a habitable planet, this would change the types and abundances of life that planet could support. This alters the associated biosignatures. Therefore, an inhabited exoplanet may exhibit very different biosignatures to the present-day Earth, depending on that planet’s age. In this talk I will summarise my work on linking solar evolution to the future habitability of Earth and, by extension, other Earth-like planets. Extinction sequences and potential refuges for life over the next 3 Gyr will be discussed, as well as the implications for future biosignature searches.
