New SAC postdoc - Remo Collet

Remo Collet has joined the Stellar Astrophysics Centre 1 January 2016

Remo did his PhD studies at Uppsala University in Sweden; after that, he has been a postdoc at the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics in Garching, Germany, and at the Centre for Star and Planet Formation at the University of Copenhagen. Prior to coming to Aarhus University, he has been an Australian Research Council’s Discovery Early Career Research Award (DECRA) fellow at the Australian National University in Canberra.

His scientific interests are primarily in the area of computational astrophysics, and his research focuses on 3D hydrodynamic modelling of stellar surface convection and stellar atmospheres. He is particularly interested in 3D radiative transfer and spectral line formation in stellar environments.

At the Stellar Astrophysics Centre he is to work on the application of 3D simulations of stellar surface convection to the determination of stellar parameters and compositions and to asteroseismology.
