Problem installing Pyxplot on MacOS

I got the errors

ld: symbol(s) not found for architecture x86_64
clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation)

when trying to install Pyxplot. A similar problem and a solution is reported here:

The solution only involves a simple modification of the Pyxplot Makefile.
