Centre for Scientific Computing in Aarhus (CSCAA) is a Centre under the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Aarhus University.

CSCAA purchases, maintains, operates and supports high performance computers for a range of University groups ranging from Physics and Chemistry to Medicine and Economics.

CSCAA defines, implements and enforces the policies for use of the computer resources in collaboration with the users. CSCAA's organisation consists of a User Forum, a Steering Committee, a Centre leader and the staff.

Expansion of Grendel

Expansion of Grendel

In the autumn 2020, Grendel-S will be expanded with 96 new computernodes.

Each node will have 48-cores @ 3 GHz in Intel/CascadeLake 6248R CPUs, 384GB memory, 100Gbps network and 4TB SSD disk storage.

The nodes will occupy 4 computerracks and full loaded the aggregate power consumption of the new nodes will be about 60kW.

The expansion of Grendel-S was made possible due to contributions from research groups at Department of Physics, Department of Chemistry and Department of Economics at BSS, Aarhus University.
