New postdoc - Arturo Camacho

Arturo Camacho has joined the group of Georg Bruun as a postdoctoral researcher on 1 June 2017

My academic interests mainly focus on the study of the behavior of many-body systems at ultracold temperatures, where they can behave as a macroscopic coherent state. In particular, I have addressed the study of Fermi gases confined in optical lattices with long-range interactions, this long-range interaction can be a consequence of the intrinsic nature of the atoms or molecules such as Rydberg atoms, magnetic dipolar atoms or electric dipolar atoms, furthermore the long-range interaction may emerge as a consequence of a mediated interaction. The study of this kind of systems has opened the possibility to study novel physics such as supersolidity, polarons, topological superfluids, and provides a new scenario to use the full regime of the light-matter interaction to control the quantum many-body states of the matter.
