Kåre Iversen is employed at the Department of Physics and Astronomy (IFA) as of 1 September to work with the design of the neutron instrument HEIMDAL, in collaboration with the Institute of Chemistry (IFK). HEIMDAL is to be built next to the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden and is expected to cost around 100 M DKK. The project is international with partners from Norway and Switzerland under the management of Aarhus University. Kåre Iversen has experience from both academia and industry. Kåre Iversen has previously been employed at IFA (13 years) and has for the last 9 years been employed at Grundfos A/S. The work on HEIMDAL will initially be related to technical drawings of the individual components, later parts must be purchased and the instrument built. Kåre Iversen will sit at IFA in the group for mechanical design and construction 1523-219. HEIMDAL is expected to be finished in the 2021.

We welcome Kåre.
