Karsten Brogaard employed as part-time lecturer

Starting 1 September, Karsten Brogaard is employed for one year as an external lecturer at the Department of Physics and Astronomy. Karsten will be course coordinator and instructing the course "Astronomy from observation to Science Communication".

 

The objective of the course is to give the students the ability to independently gather, process, interpret, and communicate results of astronomical observations from various data sources.

Through this course, various digital tools for analysis, simulation, presentation, teaching and public outreach will be introduced and used.

Karsten applied for and received a grant from Science and Technology for the dissemination of digital skills. He will use this grant to implement the use of Virtual Reality in the course.

Karsten’s main scientific interest is to continue  investigating and improving the accuracy of star ages through observations of variable eclipsing variable binary stars and star clusters.
