During the last couple of months, the Grendel-Supercomputer operated by CSCAA has been expanded with 96 new computers (nodes). Each node has 48-Intel CPU cores, 384GB memory, which are connected to a 100Gbps network.

After the expansion Grendel now contains more than 17.000 CPU cores.

13 research groups from AU have contributed to the funding of the expansion: 8 groups from IFA, 4 groups from Department of Chemistry, and one group from the Department of Economics and Business Economics at BSS.

In total, the groups from IFA have contributed with 68% of the expansion.

The new nodes have already been installed in the Grendel Cluster, and are ready for use.
