Ny postdoc: Filipe F. Bellotti

Filipe F. Bellotti joined the the theoretical few-body physics group as a Postdoctoral Researcher on April 1st, 2015.

Filipe F. Bellotti has participated in a program of joint supervision of doctoral studies between the Technological Institute for Aeronautics (ITA) in Brazil and the Aarhus University and was awarded a double PhD degree in 2014 from both Universities. During his PhD studies, Filipe investigated the universal properties of three-body systems confined in both two and three dimensions, namely those properties that are independent of the model used to described the interaction between the neutral cold atoms. This work has contributed to our understanding of three-body effects in two-dimensional cold atomic gases that may be experimentally probed in the near future. During his postdoc Filipe will be working on low-dimensional quantum systems with emphasis on magnetic behaviour and dynamics of multi-component systems, where a key question is how to extrapolate results from few-body systems to larger system sizes and eventually how to merge these results with those that are obtained using many-body techniques.
