Research

My research covers aspects of solar and stellar structure and oscillations, with particular emphasis of the application of oscillation observations to helioseismology and asteroseismology.

Much of this activity is organized in the Danish AsteroSeismology Centre (DASC). This in part serves to prepare our participation in the asteroseismic analysis of data from the NASA Kepler satellite, with planned launch in 2008.

A major activity has been to serve as scientific leader of the MONS project (for Measuring Oscillations in Nearby Stars) on the planned Danish satellite Rømer. This page gives information about the project. Unfortunately, the funding of the Danish Small Satellite Programme has been terminated, thus blocking for the completion of the project.

Teaching

I teach introductory and advanced courses in stellar structure and evolution, as well as a course on stellar pulsation. In addition, I occasionally conduct study groups in other, related subjects.
