We are a research group at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Aarhus with activities spanning various topics involving cold, trapped ions. The research can be divided into the following main subjects:
The group is headed by Professor Michael Drewsen.
We have an open Ph.D. position in cavity QED with ion crystals. For more information about this and other open positions, please look at the Positions page.
The first newsletter of the PICC (Physics of Ion Coulomb Crystals) project has been released. It can be downloaded from here.

Currently, funding is provided by the Danish National Research Foundation, the Danish Natural Science Research Council the, the Carlsberg Foundation, the Lundbeck Foundation, as well as the EU Commision.
