New postdoc - Karsten Handrup

Karsten Handrup joined the groups of Henrik B. Pedersen as a postdoctoral researcher on 1 October 2017.

Karsten Handrup joined the groups of Henrik B. Pedersen as a postdoctoral researcher on 1 October 2017.

His stipend is financed by the Aarhus University research foundation (AUFF).

Karsten will research into fundamental processes contributing to atmospheric aerosols formation. He will perform experiments both at the Department of Physic and Astronomy as well as at the Department of Chemistry in collaboration with Professor Merete Bilde. 

He graduated from Aarhus University as a MSc in Technical Physics in 2009. In 2014 he obtained his PhD under the supervision of James N. O’Shea at the School of Physics and Astronomy, University of Nottingham, with the thesis entitled “Synchrotron radiation based studies of complex molecules on surfaces”.

Since his PhD, Karsten Handrup has worked as beamline scientist at MAX IV Laboratory and researcher at Division of Synchrotron Radiation Research at Lund University.
