Deepnarayan has expertise in material characterization and understanding the electronic structure of materials using ultra high vacuum techniques like low energy electron diffraction, angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy, x-ray photoemission spectroscopy etc. His recent research involved studying  the electronic structure of transition metal di-chalcogenides in bulk and 2D form.

Deepnarayan will take part in the ongoing research on low dimensional materials and also in building the new SGM4 nanoARPES beamline at ASTRID2.
