Help us launch TESS on Monday Night

Between Monday and Tuesday space launch and hygge in Fysisk Auditorium

Info about event

Time

Monday 16 April 2018, at 23:00 - Tuesday 17 April 2018, at 01:00
[Translate to English:] TESS satellitten i sin bane imellem Jorden og Månen

On Monday evening 16 April shortly after to Midnight the NASA satellite TESS will be launched from Cape Canaveral, and you can watch - either from your sofa at home og with those of us that have not travelled to Florida for the event.

Fysisk Auditorium (bldg 1523-318) will be open from 23:00 to Tuesday 01:00. We will be streaming the launch, and PhD student Anders Bo Justesen will give some background for the purposes with TESS, plus hopefully we will be able to SKYPE with our colleagues in Florida before the launch.

Launch is scheduled for 00:32 Tuesday, Danish Daylight Saving Time.

Access to the auditorium via the door to the left of the main entrance to IFA. Free admission; bring your friends.

TESS being tested. The satellite mass is some 350 kg.

Our full size model of TESS is presently on display at the Steno Museum, and on April 26 we will be telling about the satellite project at Forskningens Døgn in Stakladen. You can even build your own model - though not in full size!
